📋 Description

• Provide academic advising for undergraduate students, including building productive relationships, academic goal setting, assisting students facing difficulty, degree clearance, and appropriate referrals • Lead advising, retention, and success efforts for populations at risk of not completing, including low-income and first-generation students • Develop and implement strategic goals and action plans • Plan events, including an intensive summer program • Advise students on academic goals, University policies, degree requirements, academic milestones, and progress toward degree completion • Support, coach, advocate for, and provide feedback and referrals to students • Audit student records against University and program degree requirements for graduation preparation • Partner with academic departments regarding programs, requirements, and student concerns • Develop, execute, measure, and assess recruitment, retention, and graduation projects • Assist with needs assessment, goal setting, and plan development and implementation • Supervise student workers and oversee budgets and purchasing accountability • Develop data collection and tracking systems; access, extract, interpret, and disseminate data with University offices • Communicate results through oral and written reports or analyses • Collaborate with campus partners on academic and professional enrichment opportunities and events • Manage participation in the summer Early Connection Opportunity Program • Represent the Hajim School on committees and correspond with prospective students, parents, and alumni • Publish information on websites and external-facing media • Assist with department, school, and University programs and events • Manage the department email address and respond to routine inquiries

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 3 years of advising experience and program management in higher education, or closely-related experience and clear evidence of a thoughtful decision to move into higher education required • Or equivalent combination of education and experience • Ability to work independently, develop action plans, be creative, solve problems, plan events, and demonstrate flexibility in decision-making and prioritizing projects preferred • Ability to interpret policies and make complex judgements preferred • Ability to collect, manage, manipulate, analyze, and summarize qualitative and quantitative data preferred • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels, collaborate, communicate effectively across audiences (such as students, parents, faculty, and staff), and communicate clearly through oral and written means preferred • Background with institutional research and database tools, Workday Enterprise systems, and intermediate Excel knowledge preferred
