📋 Description

• Collaborate with the FERC Supervisor, Manager, and other FERC Coordinators to ensure accurate patient authorizations for multiple inpatient departments • Provide knowledge, expertise, and guidance to the FERC Coordinator team • Ensure completion of daily work queues and responsibilities • Assign daily accounts to team members and prioritize accounts • Provide new-hire training and team education on payer websites and authorization guidelines • Assist with performance appraisals and/or performance management under supervision • Provide guidance, expertise, and solutions for complex account issues • Review claim edit work queues before payer submission for accounts missing authorizations • Follow through on authorization issues and/or assign them to team members • Perform FERC Coordinator responsibilities during staff vacancies and high-volume periods • Assist with Kronos/timecards • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Five years of related work experience in a healthcare setting working with insurance and authorizations • Excellent customer service and communication skills • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills • Basic computer skills, including Excel • Ability to work M-F; 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM • Sedentary work with prolonged sitting (67–100% of the workday) and lifting limited to under 10 lbs • Fine motor skills for computer work, writing, and telephone use • Clear visual and auditory ability • Ability to meet high cognitive and emotional demands, including extended concentration, frequent interruptions, independent decision-making, and information processing • May require flexible hours, TB screening, or a valid driver’s license
