• Lead development of policies, processes, and structures overseeing research design, data collection, analysis, and dissemination • Collaborate with research consortia, scientific working groups, and institutional partners on ethical and accountable research and data sharing • Design and implement governance systems protecting research participants and scientific integrity • Evaluate data sensitivity and design and apply data governance approaches such as data access controls • Assess emerging privacy considerations and update compliance methods • Monitor adherence to ethical, legal, and institutional requirements • Contribute to incident investigations and CAPA plans • Monitor activities and report to stakeholders • Lead governance initiatives for responsible application of AI and other emerging technologies • Develop and implement data-sharing and governance standards, protocols, training materials, and presentations • Lead partnerships with internal teams and external collaborators • Respond to data access requests and provide user support • Design and oversee governance frameworks and data privacy guidelines • Direct custom data governance systems and execution of complex data-sharing agreements • Lead internal and external investigations and contribute to high-level audit reporting • Develop and negotiate data-sharing terms • Identify governance gaps and modernize workflows and documentation using AI and emerging technologies • Lead privacy and compliance training programs as a subject matter expert
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as life sciences, public health, public administration, or social sciences • 7+ years of professional experience in a research setting involving human biomedical data • Knowledge and experience with laws, regulations, and best practices related to human research data • Experience preparing and submitting Institutional Review Board (IRB) materials, preferably including multi-site protocols • Human subjects research regulatory experience • Experience with legal language or data sharing agreement review • Experience developing or improving Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or process documentation • Knowledge of incident investigation, root cause analysis, and Corrective Action/Preventive Action (CAPA) plans • Organizational skills and attention to detail • Experience with documentation/task management tools such as Google Suite, MS Suite, Confluence, and Jira • Written and verbal communication skills across various audiences and mediums • Understanding of F.A.I.R. data sharing and ethical research principles for human biomedical research • Strong digital literacy and eagerness to learn new software and tools • Ability to navigate ambiguity as project and business needs change • Ability to sustain focus and concentration during computer-based and reading-intensive tasks • Ability to work effectively under deadlines • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills • Flexibility to adapt to changing environments, priorities, and multitask • Effective verbal and written communication skills • Ability to work well in a team and maintain professionalism • Ability to follow company policies, procedures, and relevant laws and regulations • Travel required at least twice per year for on-site events in Seattle, Washington
