📋 Description

• Set the vision and strategic roadmap for using data science, machine learning, and AI to improve subscriber experience, network performance, and business outcomes • Conduct and lead independent, collaborative research to develop cutting-edge models • Deliver and oversee high-quality science implementation • Mentor junior and senior data scientists • Coordinate with software engineering, data engineering, design, and AI solution directors to integrate intelligence into scalable products and services • Advance practices in data science, MLOps, decision science, predictive modeling, and AI ethics • Communicate complex data science concepts and impacts to technical and non-technical stakeholders • Identify data improvements and work with stakeholders to improve data quality and pipelines • Provide overall data science leadership across Sand and help scale the industry team

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data science and machine learning • Proven track record of independent research, development, and putting machine learning models into production • M.Sc. or equivalent advanced degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field (M.Sc. preferably) • Prior experience in the Telco industry is highly advantageous • Fluency in Python • Strong experience in at least one cloud provider, preferably AWS • Demonstrated experience mentoring and helping colleagues grow their technical and professional competencies • Proven ability to generate roadmaps that solve complex business problems and lead cross-functional teams at scale • Strong MLOps background • Deep understanding of the interplay between software/data engineering and data science • Adherence to robust software engineering practices • Strong background in statistics and machine learning algorithms • Willingness and ability to travel to client sites around the African continent
