📋 Description

• Provide virtual care to patients through video visits, delivering whole person care, education, and referrals as needed • Assist physicians, assess patients, and treat injuries and ailments in acute, short-term, and long-term care settings • Obtain thorough medical histories and perform examinations or assessments to determine patient needs • Analyze patient, medical record, symptom, physical finding, and diagnostic information with healthcare professionals to establish diagnoses • Coordinate and navigate care, including rounding on patients when necessary • Work collaboratively with providers and independently to provide care • Formulate treatment plans and prescribe medications when legally authorized • Maintain complete and detailed patient healthcare plans and prognoses • Consult with or refer patients to appropriate specialists when conditions exceed scope of practice or expertise • Educate patients on health promotion, risk-factor reduction, disease, and disability prevention • Counsel patients and families on self-management and prevention and treatment plans • Cover hospital consultations, rounding, and patient procedures as needed • Conduct specialty research and use findings to improve patient care and clinical outcomes • Incorporate evidence-based practice guidelines into care • Maintain knowledge of state advanced-practice regulations, reimbursement rules, and payer systems

🎯 Requirements

• Completion of a master’s, postmaster’s, or doctorate from a nurse practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education or National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission • Demonstrated current competence and provision of care, treatment, or services for an adequate volume of patients in the past twelve months, or completion of a master’s/post-master’s degree program in the past twelve months • Experience must correlate to the privileges requested • Current licensure by the applicable state board of nursing for advanced practice • Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe controlled substances • Certified Family Nurse Practitioner credential: NP-C or FNP-BC • Required department-specific competencies and certifications must be obtained and maintained • Extensive advanced knowledge of medical principles, practices, and techniques • Maintain current knowledge of state legal regulations for advanced practice provider practices • Keep abreast of Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, private payer systems, regulatory processes, and reimbursement
