📋 Description

• Receive, evaluate, and coordinate release of information requests submitted by mail, fax, phone, and/or in person • Retrieve patient medical charts and return charts • Copy and scan medical records accurately • Prepare documentation for electronic or mailed delivery • Review scanned documents for accuracy • Perform quality checks for release accuracy, confidentiality, and invoicing • Assign requests accurately and appropriately • Scan, copy, and distribute records and documents in a timely manner • Notify the supervisor of record issues • Refer appropriate requests to internal and/or external review staff • Maintain information-request records using the EPIC system • Complete assigned cash-handling tasks, including collecting credit card information, handling mailed checks, and posting payments • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming departmental mail • Perform other duties as assigned to support business needs

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred • Health Information Technology (HIT) degree preferred • General clerical experience preferred • Some exposure to medical terminology preferred • Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred • Word processing experience required • Must be able to keyboard proficiently • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification preferred • Basic understanding of release of information workflows • Ability to accurately and efficiently use a computer for data input and data retrieval
