📋 Description

• Work in a project team environment with engineers and designers on new and existing nuclear power plant electrical systems • Design, modify, and analyze electrical systems • Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve electrical engineering issues • Prepare and review engineering design change packages • Prepare and review engineering calculations, including AC/DC power studies, short circuit, cable ampacity, voltage drop, breaker coordination, motor starting, and protective relay settings • Prepare and review equipment procurement specifications • Participate in vendor bid review evaluations and respond to vendor questions • Prepare and review conceptual design scoping documents, including constructability reviews • Interface with Mechanical, Structural, Civil, and I&C disciplines • Interface with clients and vendors, review vendor documents, and provide written comments • Attend client meetings and site field walkdowns • Travel to client and vendor offices and plant sites for design reviews, construction coordination, and field verification • Support site installation activities during project implementation • Assist the project manager with project completion, schedule, and budget • Initiate and convey scope of work, define deliverables, review team status, submit progress reports, track open items, resolve emergent issues, and coordinate deliverables

🎯 Requirements

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program • 7 or more years’ experience in the design of electrical engineering systems in a project team environment for industrial applications, with a focus on design for existing nuclear power plants • Experience in the selection of equipment and materials and preparation and assembly of engineering design change packages, calculations, and specifications • Experience with electrical system design including low and medium voltage distribution systems, transformers, generators, motors, and relays • Effective written and verbal communication skills • Detail-oriented approach to work • Capable of being badged for unescorted access to a nuclear station • Work authorization sponsorship is not provided in the U.S. • PE license is valued but not required • MSEE is valued but not required
