• Work and lead others in a project team environment designing, modifying, and upgrading new and existing power plant electrical systems • Review, supervise, and provide technical guidance in producing design deliverables • Develop cable schedules, grounding layouts, underground and above-ground raceway layouts, electrical notes and details, electrical equipment layouts, and lighting layouts • Work with management to develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules • Oversee staff assignments, evaluations, and career development for assigned personnel on large or multiple small projects • Lead multiple teams across multiple projects • Coordinate directly with project management and project discipline leads • Develop, monitor, and control project costs and schedules • Lead field walkdowns and data gathering at client facilities • Support Energy & Industrial projects involving power generation, environmental compliance, oil and gas, industrial facilities, renewables, carbon capture, hydrogen power, photovoltaic solar, and energy storage
• A high school diploma and equivalent technical design experience • 18 or more years of Electrical/Instrumentation & Controls design experience, including 2D & 3D • Experience in the review of Electrical/Instrumentation & Controls deliverables packages • Extensive drafting experience using standard computer drafting tools, such as AutoCAD or MicroStation, on power plants or other large-scale industrial facilities projects • Thorough understanding of drafting and design practices and theories • Ability to interface and communicate with engineering and design teams of other disciplines in power plant or large-scale industrial facilities design processes • Experience developing grounding layouts, underground duct bank and embedded conduit drawings, cable tray and exposed conduit layouts, instrument location plans, area classification plans, and electrical equipment location drawings • Ability to travel as necessary for client meetings, job site visits, and data gathering • Associates Degree in Computer Aided Design is valued but not required • Experience using both AutoCAD and MicroStation is valued but not required • Design experience developing single-line, relay, and metering diagrams, including medium-voltage and 480V systems is valued but not required • Familiarity with digital control systems is valued but not required • Ability to produce wiring diagrams and schematics for installers and electricians • Ability to assist engineers with initial design requirements • Ability to conceptualize plans and details to accurately convey wiring termination requirements • Strong knowledge and ability to create interconnection wiring diagrams, conduit/cable schedules, loop diagrams, and area classification plans • Experience with 3D lighting calculation programs and heat trace design preferred • Ability to interpret P&IDs and instrumentation wiring and provide I&C input into P&IDs • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; the company does not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S.
