• Provide development support, conceptual design, and owner’s engineer services to electric power project clients • Perform technical evaluations of electric power generation projects and facilities • Support project economic and cost analysis, risk assessments, and contract development • Conduct engineering design reviews and technical due diligence • Support project development and conceptual design for conventional power projects • Apply mechanical design expertise to conventional power projects • Travel within the United States and internationally as needed • Use data, automation, artificial intelligence, and other digital tools where relevant to research, analysis, engineering, design, and workflow improvement
• BSME in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program • Strong academic background • 10 or more years of experience in the electric power industry • Experience in detailed design of mechanical systems of conventional power projects, including simple cycle gas turbines, combined cycle projects, coal-fired generation, steam systems, or reciprocating engines (RICE) • Experience in development support and conceptual design of conventional power projects • Excellent technical communication and writing skills • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.; the employer does not sponsor work authorization • Experience with technical due diligence and owner’s engineering design reviews is valued but not required • General understanding of power station operations and performance reviews is valued but not required • General understanding of process design at electric power generation facilities is valued but not required • Economic, cost analysis, and contract development experience is valued but not required • Familiarity with international design codes and standards is preferred • Experience with AI, automation, programming, or similar technologies is valued but not required
