📋 Description

• Review clinical documentation and assign and sequence diagnostic and procedural codes for facility inpatient records. • Validate MS-DRG calculations to accurately capture documented diagnoses and procedures. • Review and assess documentation and abstract clinical data for regulatory compliance. • Select and sequence ICD-10-CM and PCS codes for designated patient types, including acute facility inpatient records. • Review clinical records to ensure MS-DRG assignments reflect documented diagnoses and procedures. • Abstract clinical data supporting diagnoses, procedures, and discharge disposition. • Provide client staff with coding clarification and assistance, including provider queries. • Participate in client and staff meetings, trainings, and conference calls. • Participate in continuing education activities and maintain current credentials. • Support Savista’s Compliance Program and protect patient and client confidentiality. • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.

🎯 Requirements

• Candidates must successfully pass pre-employment skills assessment. • An active AHIMA credential including RHIA, RHIT, CCS or an active AAPC credential including COC (formerly CPC-H), CCS-P, CPC or related specialty credential. • Two (2) years of recent and relevant hands-on coding experience with Acute Inpatient records. • Maintain strict patient and provider confidentiality in compliance with HIPPA. • Maintain current working knowledge of ICD-10-CM and PCS, coding guidelines, government regulations, protocols, and third-party coding/billing requirements.
