📋 Description

• Build and lead Sequen's Field Engineering function from the ground up • Hire, coach, and grow a team of 4–5 Field Engineers into a world-class technical pre-sales organization • Define the demo motion, POC and proof-of-value frameworks, technical qualification standards, collateral, and team processes • Partner with sales leadership as the technical counterweight in the field • Ensure major enterprise sales cycles have the technical expertise needed to win evaluations and close • Hire and scale the team ahead of demand by defining roles, building interview processes, raising standards, and growing named-account coverage • Serve as escalation point and technical authority on strategic, complex evaluations • Step into deals alongside AEs and Field Engineers when needed • Connect field teams with product, ML, and forward deployed engineering • Turn customer requirements and evaluation learnings into product roadmap feedback • Establish metrics, forecasting inputs, and operating rhythms for measurable technical win rates • Shape Sequen's technical go-to-market strategy

🎯 Requirements

• 8–12+ years of pre-sales / sales engineering / solutions engineering experience • At least 4 years leading Field Engineering or Sales Engineering teams • Strong customer-facing communication skills • Experience building or substantially scaling a technical pre-sales function • Experience leading technical sales for infrastructure, ML/AI, data platforms, search, or personalization products • Track record of driving technical wins on seven- and eight-figure enterprise deals • Business acumen and ability to partner with sales leadership • Ability to communicate with both a CPO and a staff engineer • Full ownership and comfort navigating ambiguity • Bachelor's degree or comparable experience, ideally in a technical field • Strong candidates may have experience in retail, e-commerce, marketplaces, or travel verticals • Strong candidates may have hands-on depth in recommendation, ranking, search, or personalization systems • Strong candidates may have scaled a team through rapid revenue and headcount growth • Strong candidates may have built POC or proof-of-value motions tied to usage-based, value-based, or lift-share commercial models • Strong candidates may have worked closely with forward deployed engineering or professional services
