📋 Description

• Supervise, coordinate, plan, and review the work of 4–8 staff members • Mentor staff on project teams • Use building codes to develop architectural solutions and provide code interpretations • Interact and negotiate with jurisdictions to obtain building permits • Interact with clients to achieve project goals • Propose solutions that advance projects in unique ways • Understand and adhere to project contract requirements • Provide project leadership and support project teams • Demonstrate firm-wide leadership by helping other project architects and teams • Communicate project deadlines, phase completion, staffing needs, changes, team morale, client perception, and short-term project needs with the project manager • Perform QA/QC • Reinforce project metrics, technical standards, efficiency improvements, and profitability • Perform some project management duties, including work-plan and schedule development • Participate in hiring interviews and management reviews of subordinate staff • Provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement • Engage with industry groups to develop specialized knowledge • Support marketing and business development • Model the firm’s values and core commitments • Respect and reinforce firm policies and processes • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Requires a Bachelor or Master’s degree from an accredited program • Licensed Architect is required • Generally have 8+ years of experience • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, MS Office Suite required • LEED AP preferred • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of the OSSC/ADAAG • Knowledge of OMSC, OFC, NFPA, OSHA, FHA, ANSI, City of Portland codes, and the USGBC LEED rating system and score card • Knowledge of SketchUp, SpecLink, Smartsheet, and Deltek preferred • Advanced verbal, written, and graphic communication abilities • Advanced ability to determine the right tool for the task • Advanced ability to prioritize and evaluate multiple important tasks • Advanced critical-thinking and independent problem-solving ability • Advanced professional judgment and decision-making ability • Established leadership skills to motivate and guide teams and projects • Established conflict-resolution skills within project teams • Established ability to negotiate with or advocate for team members, consultants, clients, and jurisdictions
