• Provide crisis and suicide intervention counseling by telephone to callers needing emergency or crisis assistance • Identify and suggest appropriate organizations and service providers to meet callers' needs • Monitor callers' situations through case follow-up • Document and maintain accurate, thorough records of telephone interventions during the work shift • Review daily log sheets and client records for accurate information recording and maintenance • Supervise and monitor telephone counselors and volunteers to ensure accurate, quality crisis assistance and documentation • Provide crisis intervention and suicide prevention training and consultation to counselors, volunteers, service providers, and community groups • Attend and participate in staff and team meetings, providing information about counselor procedures and services • Provide crisis intervention to community groups traumatized by suicide, as assigned
• Bachelor's degree in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, Human Services, or a related field; or high school diploma/GED with completion of AAS/Life Line 50 hours of Crisis Intervention/Suicide Prevention training and six months of volunteer time with Seven Counties Services after training • Minimum of six months' experience in social services • Good communication and interpersonal skills • Knowledge of available community resources • Ability to make sound decisions and judgments in stressful or unusual situations • Good supervisory skills and ability to work in a team environment • Must reside in the Greater Louisville area • COVID and Influenza vaccinations required for all employees
