β’ Review plans, calculations and specifications for compliance with the most current adopted ordinances, laws, and state building codes β’ Prepare plans review comment letters according to municipality direction and SCA standards β’ Meet and confer with clients as needed via phone, email, virtual meeting, or in-person to clarify plan check comments
β’ Professional Civil or Structural Engineer β’ ICC Certified Plans Examiner with complete knowledge and full understanding of the International model building codes and standard construction methods β’ Ability to review all structural systems and additional building systems as needed (i.e., architectural, accessibility, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, energy, and green/sustainability) β’ Minimum 2 years of experience working for an engineering design firm or alternatively 2 (or more) years working as a Plan Check Engineer for a jurisdiction providing design or plan check reviews for both commercial and residential project types β’ Basic computer knowledge related to Microsoft Office products and various plan review software such as BlueBeam (or similar AutoCad based products) β’ Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering from an accredited college β’ Must successfully complete standard background investigation β’ Full-time availability β’ Must be based within California, Arizona, Colorado, Utah, or Nevada
