📋 Description

• Lead and support surveillance system activities across the company portfolio • Define, architect, and integrate ground-based surveillance architectures across the Systems Engineering V • Develop requirements, use cases, and functional architectures for DAA, ADS-B, Radar, and TCAS/ACAS • Support certification, safety, and verification and validation planning throughout the system lifecycle • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, IPT leads, systems engineers, program managers, and system architects • Deliver systems lifecycle artifacts and technical leadership through the current CDR phase • Establish end-to-end bi-directional requirements traceability for surveillance systems • Support System/Subsystem Design Description development for Critical Design Reviews • Identify and mitigate traffic-surveillance technical and performance risks • Capture, derive, and manage system and subsystem requirements based on operational needs, customer inputs, airspace constraints, and regulatory standards • Develop and maintain SysML models using MBSE methodologies and tools such as Cameo • Support architecture definition and technical integration for surveillance sensors and systems • Advance system development through implementation, verification, validation, and certification • Support ARP4754B development practices and system safety assessments per ARP4761A • Support SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and qualification reviews • Ensure compliance with customer, contractual, and regulatory requirements • Coordinate cross-functional engineering activities and review/supervise junior and mid-level systems engineers • Report to the Systems Engineering Manager

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, Aerospace Engineering, or related STEM degree from an accredited university or college • 7+ years of experience working in a highly technical, aerospace-related industry • 5+ years of experience working in a Systems Engineering position • Hands-on experience with surveillance avionics systems, collision avoidance, or sensor fusion technologies, including ADS-B, Radar, TCAS/ACAS X, DAA, or Mode S Transponders • Familiarity with all phases of the systems engineering design process: ConOps, requirements development, software/system architecture, system integration and test, and verification and validation • Experience with ARP 4754B • Ability to support system safety reviews per ARP 4761 • Preferred: Master’s degree in engineering or related field • Preferred: Experience developing aircraft systems, UTM, or AAM platforms • Preferred: Exposure to RTCA/EUROCAE surveillance standards such as DO-365, DO-260, DO-185, and DO-386 • Preferred: Familiarity with DO-178C and DO-254 airborne development processes • Preferred: Experience with Polarion or DOORS • Preferred: Experience applying MBSE principles using SysML and Cameo Systems Modeler/MagicDraw
