📋 Description

• Write, tune, and maintain detections in the Panther SIEM across cloud, container, and SaaS log sources. • Run the SIEM day to day by onboarding log sources, managing detection quality, and reducing false positives. • Triage and investigate security alerts from raw log to conclusion and help execute incident-response playbooks. • Run AWS cloud security operations, investigate GuardDuty and Wiz findings, tighten configurations, and remediate cloud misconfigurations. • Own and improve GitHub organization security controls as code. • Partner on network and infrastructure security, including network telemetry, egress monitoring, and backup support. • Build and extend security-automation tooling. • Write runbooks for repeatable detection and response. • Contribute to security design reviews and RFCs and provide security feedback on pull requests. • Support vulnerability management through triage and exploitability assessment.

🎯 Requirements

• 4+ years in security engineering with hands-on AWS and cloud-native infrastructure experience. • Direct experience writing and tuning detections in a modern SIEM, such as Panther. • Experience investigating security alerts from raw log to a defensible conclusion. • Ability to design and deliver medium-complexity security work independently. • Code fluency in Python or TypeScript for automation. • Familiarity with CloudTrail, VPC Flow Logs, GuardDuty, and AWS Config. • AWS network security fundamentals, including VPC, security groups, and egress controls. • Terraform experience sufficient to partner on and back up network and infrastructure security work. • Clear technical writing and ability to create actionable runbooks and tickets. • Ability to design maintainable detections and operational tooling. • Ownership mindset and ability to close loops. • Nice-to-have: startup experience, incident-response experience, advanced network security, Kubernetes/EKS and container security, and interest in AI/agentic security and automation.
