• Drive industrial equipment automation projects for the pork industry. • Collaborate with business partners and cross-functional teams to identify automation needs and develop solutions. • Develop preliminary engineering designs, specifications, and project cost estimates. • Conduct research, feasibility studies, economic studies, and operational reviews. • Determine design criteria based on required standards and codes. • Validate field work and create as-built drawings. • Review engineering projects for accuracy and soundness. • Manage project execution by guiding vendors and contractors. • Coordinate project schedules with plant personnel, vendors, contractors, management, and engineering teams. • Coordinate equipment vendor direction, layouts, utility requirements, and installation schedules. • Review consultant work products and recommend adjustments. • Maintain equipment manuals, mechanical and electrical drawings, parts lists, specifications, and vendor/service contacts. • Determine scope of work and prepare and evaluate requests for proposals. • Submit detailed project reports to management by established deadlines. • Administer contracts and review bid packages for compliance and completeness. • Prepare project justifications, budget analyses, calculations, plans, and schedules. • Monitor installations to ensure proposal specifications and budgets are met. • Manage assigned budget activities throughout the project lifecycle. • Continuously improve robotic and controls knowledge to execute innovative solutions. • Lead employee development and coaching.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Engineering, or related field and 5+ years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required. • 2+ years’ experience in a position of leadership to include team development and management, required. • Ability to apply sound engineering principles to operational and design issues. • Knowledge of installation and construction project scheduling. • Project Management skills. • Contract Administration skills. • National codes and standards interpretation skills. • Proficient in engineering economics. • Proficient in AutoCAD. • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office products. • Able to travel to other locations 50% of the time. • Knowledge of engineering principles and techniques related to food processing and the meat industry. • Previous experience managing multi-million-dollar projects with large scopes. • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. • Excellent written and oral communication, organizational planning, teamwork, analytical reasoning, and adaptability. • Ability to work in office and production plant environments, including wet or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and chemicals.
