• Troubleshoot, service, install/deploy, and repair Trace, X-Ray, CT X-Ray, and Cargo Inspection equipment at customer sites • Maintain field service logs and job files through completion • Conduct customer follow-up calls and drive customer satisfaction • Install, repair, and maintain field equipment and provide customer training • Respond to emergency and unscheduled service calls within response-time goals • Complete scheduled maintenance and document inspections, maintenance, and repairs • Order, install, and return parts; manage repair-parts cycle time • Maintain accurate inventories of parts and tools • Review logs for open issues and prepare customer reports • Participate in service sales opportunities and revenue programs • Maintain and calibrate tools and test equipment • Assess equipment performance using field-support data and recommend improvements • Provide technical support to customers and service professionals • Participate in site surveys, pilot programs, meetings, special projects, and report preparation • Build technical knowledge of Trace and X-Ray technologies • Collaborate with senior Field Service Technicians and Product Managers • Control and minimize costs while maximizing revenue • Submit expenses, time cards, and administrative documentation on time • Comply with health, safety, environmental, export-control, and security regulations
• Associate’s Degree, related trade certification in electrical, electronic, or mechanical fields, or military training in electrical, mechanical, or electronics • Equivalent comparative work and life experience of 1–3 years in a related electrical or mechanical field service role is acceptable • Computer literacy and proficiency with all programs in the MS Office Suite • Aptitude for learning specialized software programs • Minimum 1–3 years of experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical and electronic systems and equipment in the field • Excellent communication skills and strong customer-focus and teamwork orientation • Responsiveness to customer issues at all times • Willingness and ability to travel at short notice • Ability to maintain current technical certifications • Ability to pass TSA vetting and a federal background investigation for Sensitive Security Information access • Ability to lift/carry 80 lbs • Ability to push/pull 200 lbs • Ability to move/manipulate equipment weighing up to 1,000 lbs using specified assistance devices • Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, turning, and working in unusual positions requiring full-body mobility • Ability to work safely in extreme environments and around dangerous industrial equipment • Ability to handle stressful situations and multitask several projects • Self-motivated, reliable, and accountable • Excellent telephone skills • Willingness to work travel, overtime, and hours other than Monday–Friday when required • Compliance with drug-free workplace requirements and possible employment drug testing • Compliance with applicable U.S. export-control and security regulations
