• Serve as the civil engineering subject matter expert defining and integrating civil construction activities. • Develop practical civil work solutions based on project requirements, field conditions, construction methodologies, and equipment capabilities. • Define construction sequences including excavation, grading, trenching, earthmoving, material movement, and site activities. • Evaluate equipment and technology solutions against construction requirements, production expectations, limitations, tolerances, and site constraints. • Identify gaps between technical capabilities and construction needs and develop practical solutions with internal and external teams. • Coordinate multiple construction technologies, equipment platforms, and operational processes into complete civil works solutions. • Define operational interfaces and dependencies between equipment and technology solutions. • Partner with engineering, product, technology, operations, construction, and external solution providers to translate field requirements into technical and operational requirements. • Develop and maintain project plans, milestones, schedules, deliverables, and implementation strategies. • Track development and delivery timelines for equipment, automation, and technology solutions. • Coordinate workstream dependencies and ensure solutions are delivered in the appropriate sequence. • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies. • Lead cross-functional progress and issue-resolution meetings. • Report on project status, milestones, risks, dependencies, and solution readiness. • Validate solutions in civil construction environments and participate in field testing, demonstrations, pilots, and solution validation. • Evaluate field performance and recommend improvements. • Support construction methodologies, workflows, and operating procedures for new technologies. • Evaluate and deploy automation technologies within civil construction workflows. • Collaborate with partners developing autonomous or semi-autonomous construction equipment. • Integrate automated or technology-enabled systems into coordinated construction operations.
• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. • 7+ years of progressive experience in civil engineering, heavy civil construction, site development, infrastructure, or related construction environments. • Strong practical understanding of civil construction means and methods. • Demonstrated knowledge of construction sequencing and dependencies between civil work activities. • Experience with earthwork, excavation, grading, trenching, underground utilities, site preparation, or similar civil construction operations. • Experience managing engineering, construction, technical, or multidisciplinary projects. • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, construction plans, and technical requirements. • Strong understanding of constructability and field execution. • Ability to coordinate multiple technical teams, vendors, contractors, and stakeholders. • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. • Preferred: experience with construction automation, industrial automation, robotics, autonomous equipment, or technology-enabled construction. • Preferred: experience integrating multiple equipment or technology platforms into broader operational solutions. • Preferred: experience with automated or autonomous dozers, excavators, earthmoving equipment, or similar heavy construction equipment. • Preferred: experience with material-handling systems or material movement operations. • Preferred: background in large-scale industrial, infrastructure, manufacturing, technology, or complex construction environments. • Preferred: experience with equipment manufacturers, technology developers, systems integrators, or construction technology companies. • Preferred: broad understanding of automation technologies, robotics, actuators, sensors, and geolocalization technologies. • Preferred: familiarity with project controls, milestone tracking, scheduling, and technical program management. • PE licensure is beneficial but not required. • Approximately 30% travel expected. • Must be comfortable working directly in active construction and civil works environments when onsite. • Must comply with applicable safety requirements, site procedures, and company policies.
