📋 Description

• Serve as the technical bridge between customers, sales, engineering, estimating, manufacturing, and executive leadership • Conceptualize and communicate engineered solutions integrating with current designs and assemblies • Develop strategic innovation frameworks with global impact on SIGI • Present custom-tailored engineered solutions to customers • Troubleshoot field assemblies and lead next steps in sales processes • Train salespeople, manufacturers, and engineers to support knowledge transfer and standardization • Manage SIGI Global Intellectual Property and liaise with legal representatives • Create and develop custom-tailored solutions with customers and sales staff • Lead technical presentations, exploratory discussions, and ideation sessions • Optimize and troubleshoot previous applications and solutions • Create application-scope documents, including conformity matrices • Analyze and develop machine risk assessments and build cross-functional consensus • Develop or review pricing for custom-tailored solutions • Define assembly limitations and derating methods • Lead internal discussions with engineering, sales, and executive leadership • Support continuous improvement testing on legacy designs and fixtures • Support new product development testing to validate designs and fixtures • Serve as subject-matter expert for patent, trademark, IP, and AI-related questions • Promote knowledge sharing across the organization • Respond to global sales and strategic-account opportunities and customer developments • Identify and communicate customer-need patterns, competitive developments, regulatory developments, and threats • Collaborate frequently with Engineering and Manufacturing departments • Perform other duties as required by the immediate manager

🎯 Requirements

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology preferred, or military/civilian technical school with 5 years of related experience • 5+ years of technical engineering experience, preferably in manufacturing • 3+ years of CAD modeling experience, preferably SolidWorks • Solid working knowledge of statics, dynamics, strength of materials, and machine design • Experience drafting parts and assemblies using industry-standard practices, including GD&T • Experience using FEA to evaluate design integrity • Thorough knowledge of hydraulic systems and components, fabricated steel weldments, electrical systems and components, wiring, and hydraulic schematics • Working understanding of Microsoft 365 Applications, including Microsoft CoPilot • Exposure to continuous process improvement methodologies, including Lean Six Sigma • Demonstrated relevant experience, dependability, and aptitude may substitute for formal education • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Creative problem-solving skills • Ability to manage time effectively and work accurately against deadlines • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical people • Authorized to work in the United States • Willingness to travel up to 25% to factories or customers’ sites
