📋 Description

• Own engineering execution and technical direction for the Conversation Product Area, including the Agent Engine, evaluation infrastructure, Search platform, AI Voice platform (Speak), and consumer agentic features • Co-lead the Product Area in a paired product/engineering model, owning engineering and partnering on product strategy • Manage approximately 70 engineers, including Senior Engineering Managers and Staff/Principal engineers • Develop and hold accountable the engineering management layer across approximately nine teams • Drive migration of existing agentic infrastructure onto the shared Agent Engine • Own the technical strategy for Spotify’s first-party voice investment • Define and enforce the technical bar on evaluation, including feature-specific judges and datasets • Set and enforce engineering quality standards, including code review discipline and test coverage for AI-assisted development • Participate in the broader leadership group on capacity management, project prioritization, communication principles, and engineering culture • Represent the Conversation Product Area in company-wide architecture and steering committee discussions

🎯 Requirements

• Deeply technical engineering leadership experience • Experience running large engineering organizations through platform consolidations, migrations, or evolutions • Experience with at least two of: LLM-based agent systems and orchestration; evaluation infrastructure design; large-scale retrieval or search systems; speech/voice ML systems and production voice infrastructure • Experience managing managers • Track record of building strong, nimble teams • Experience restructuring teams, shifting resources, and adapting to changing priorities without losing delivery momentum • Located within a time zone that enables regular overlap with Eastern North America and Central European teams • Must be able to work from an available Spotify work location within North Americas or EMEA
