📋 Description

• Determine the patient financial component for patient services • Estimate, communicate, and collect patient financial responsibility • Provide patient financial counseling • Assist patients in understanding insurance benefits, including co-payment, deductible, and co-insurance responsibility • Educate patients about financial assistance programs when appropriate • Obtain patient demographic information and request financial responsibility from patients • Determine patient qualification for third-party payer coverage and inform the financial counselor, patient, or family member of status • Verify commercial insurance, workers compensation insurance, TPL insurance, and state and government programs • Document and resolve patient concerns or inquiries received by telephone, mail, or walk-in within established time frames • Validate the Master Patient Index according to departmental policy • Interpret physician orders • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience • No experience required • Experience with EHR, health insurance, and payor portals is ideal • Excellent customer service skills • Excellent computer skills • Must reside in Missouri, Illinois, Oklahoma, or Wisconsin; Missouri and Illinois regions preferred • For the Missouri/Illinois remote arrangement, reside within 50 miles of the St. Louis, Missouri corporate office • Frequent keyboard use/data entry • Ability to perform required physical activities, including lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0–25 lbs frequently and 25–50 lbs occasionally • Required professional licenses and/or certifications: None
