📋 Description

• Research, edit, and assist in producing research products related to FREOPP’s policy work • Conduct primary and secondary research • Analyze public policy • Produce charts and graphic displays • Prepare research memos and background information for meetings and media appearances • Provide feedback and edits on scholars’ work • Conduct original policy research and grow expertise on issues core to FREOPP’s mission • Assist senior leadership with research projects as needed • File FOIA requests with different agencies • Coordinate small and major long-term research projects • Conduct internal outreach for scholars’ work • Coordinate events, gatherings, and projects • Manage additional administrative responsibilities as needed • Work closely with senior staff across operations, development, research, scheduling, data management, and special projects

🎯 Requirements

• 0–4 years of experience in public policy research or a related field such as economics or political science • Strong commitment to FREOPP’s mission • Strong data skills • Ability to work in Excel and at least one other platform: R, Python, or Stata • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Comfort receiving direct feedback and incorporating it quickly • Ability to identify and complete important work in a timely manner • Positive, collaborative attitude and willingness to contribute where needed • Creative, hardworking, and mission-aligned approach • Candidates must be geographically located in and authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the program • Undergraduate, graduate, law students, and recent graduates are encouraged to apply
