📋 Description

• Complete onboarding similar to full-time Ballotpedia employees • Learn to code the Ballotpedia website • Learn and follow Ballotpedia’s style guide • Learn how Ballotpedia prevents and detects bias in its resources • Join the Policy Team alongside full-time staff writers and researchers • Research and write about policy topics, including key arguments, reform proposals, legislation, regulations, case law, and state surveys • Assist with news tracking, legislation tracking, and primary source monitoring • Conduct detailed research projects • Participate in brainstorming sessions and planning meetings with experienced staff members • Assist with metrics and reporting on data collection

🎯 Requirements

• Early-career professionals, including undergraduate, graduate, or law students and recent graduates, are encouraged to apply • Must be geographically located in the United States for the duration of the program • Must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the program • Must have a well-functioning computer with Internet access • Some familiarity with Google Applications is helpful • Submit a résumé in PDF format • Submit a cover letter including contact information for two professional references • Submit a neutral writing sample under five pages in the same file as the cover letter • Résumé or cover letter must include current address
