📋 Description

• Design high quality interactive experiences across mobile, including iOS and Android, and web • Lead projects throughout the entire design process, from creative conception to production and release • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Marketing to define strategy and roadmap for growth objectives • Collaborate with and provide feedback and direction to other designers • Evaluate current processes, identify best practices, develop plans, and implement improvements • Utilize and contribute to the Step Design System • Lead the overall product, design, and UX strategy for Step’s core banking platform • Make design decisions and lead design on individual features • Influence product strategy and rally cross-functional teams around mobile solutions • Report to the Head of Design

🎯 Requirements

• Significant demonstrated experience with end-to-end hybrid UX and UI product design for consumer-facing products • Significant experience leading design for consumer fintech products is ideal • Systems-thinking ability to design scalable, consistent solutions across products • Strong visual design sensibility across systemized UI and expressive, brand-forward design • High attention to detail and quality-focused design practice • Ability to lead important projects, delegate work, and direct other designers • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to think about product strategy and vision, including what to build • Experience building and shipping mobile or web applications/software • Uses AI as a creative and productivity multiplier • Must have a portfolio featuring examples of design work • Experience building and maintaining scalable design systems is an advantage • Ability to translate designs into production-quality code is an advantage • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience • Willingness to travel occasionally for team offsites and key meetings
