📋 Description

• Deliver specific high school English course content in an online environment • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process • Personalize learning and differentiate instruction based on student mastery • Augment course content using approved asynchronous and synchronous tools • Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system • Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions • Alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish and maintain positive rapport with families • Communicate with and respond to students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Travel for professional development, student testing, and other school requirements

🎯 Requirements

• Active High School English Certificate • Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • Ability to clear required background check • Texas residency strongly preferred • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday • Ability to work the school-defined schedule, typically 9–5 or 8–4 • Ability to travel as required, on average once per month and/or approximately 20% of the time • Experience working with the proposed age group (desired) • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology (desired) • Experience teaching online/virtually and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment (desired) • Experience with online learning platforms (desired) • Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data (desired) • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint (desired) • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms (desired) • Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum (desired)
