📋 Description

• Deliver specific high school English course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process • Personalize learning and differentiate instruction based on student mastery • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Augment course content using approved online tools and procedures • Maintain the grade book and make student placement and promotion decisions • Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish positive rapport with families and communicate promptly with students and parents/learning coaches • Support parents/learning coaches with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Collaborate with teachers to interpret student data and use it to drive instructional decisions • Travel as required for professional development, student testing, and school functions

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • Ability to clear required background check • If the current teaching certification is from another state, obtain West Virginia reciprocity within 60 days of employment • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distractions during the workday • Experience working with the proposed age group preferred • Experience supporting adults and children in using technology • Experience teaching online or in a brick-and-mortar environment • Experience with online learning platforms • Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic representations of student data • Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers • Ability to receive regular coaching from administrators and teacher trainers • Ability to adapt to change and new technologies • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
