📋 Description

• Deliver specific high school English course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process • Personalize learning to students’ individual needs • Monitor student progress through Stride K12’s learning management system • Work closely with students and parents/learning coaches to advance learning toward established goals • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Differentiate instruction based on student mastery • Augment course content using approved synchronous and asynchronous tools • Maintain the grade book and ensure academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions • Alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish positive rapport with families and communicate with students and learning coaches/parents • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Travel for professional development, student testing, and other school requirements • Contribute to Arkansas Virtual Academy’s individualized, data-driven, student-centered educational mission

🎯 Requirements

• Arkansas Department of Education High School English Teaching Certification Required • Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • Ability to clear required background check • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday • Strong preference for candidates residing in Arkansas • Experience working with high school students • Experience supporting adults and children in using technology • Experience teaching online/virtual and/or brick-and-mortar • Experience with online learning platforms • Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic student-data representations and use them for instructional decisions • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum • Ability to travel as required, on average once per month and/or approximately 20% of the time
