📋 Description

• Deliver specific course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance while managing the learning process • Focus on students’ individual needs • Serve as a member of the school leadership team • Mentor, supervise, and coach teachers and provide formal evaluations • Address identified needs and support efforts to improve student performance • Orient teachers, communicate requirements, set and enforce deadlines, and maintain regular office hours • Learn the K12 curriculum for assigned grade levels and align it with state standards • Augment course content using prescribed asynchronous and synchronous tools • Support homeroom teachers with students’ academic progress and attendance • Establish positive rapport with families and teachers • Conduct data-driven conferences with teachers • Support teachers with curricular and instructional issues • Recruit and interview teaching candidates • Train new teachers and implement teacher evaluation processes • Assist with student-teacher matching and maintain uniformity among teaching procedures • Develop and implement school policies and procedures • Coordinate testing readiness and assist with attendance and progress issues • Prepare regular reports and facilitate communications • Assist with marketing events • Develop and implement data-driven program design and professional learning activities • Collaborate with peers and others to achieve school performance goals • Serve as liaison between parents, teachers, and the school administrative team • Present and lead department/team meetings • Participate in and present at staff meetings and professional development sessions • Maintain student records and prepare reports regarding students and classroom matters

🎯 Requirements

• North Carolina High School Teaching Certification Required • Must reside in North Carolina • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field AND three (3) years of successful teaching experience including experience as a virtual teacher, OR equivalent combination of education and experience • Ability to pass required background check • Knowledge of state and charter school law and regulations • Knowledge of State Performance Standards • Demonstrated leadership skills • Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills • Strong organizational skills • Experience with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Ability to learn specific student management systems • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time for training, professional development, meetings, and other work requirements • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday, typically 9-5 or 8-4, or as defined by the school
