📋 Description

• Deliver specific high school science course content in an online environment • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Personalize learning and differentiate instruction based on student mastery • Augment course content using approved synchronous and asynchronous tools • Maintain the grade book and uphold student academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions • Monitor student progress through the learning management system • Alert administrators to concerns about student performance and progress • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Establish and maintain positive rapport with families • Communicate with and respond to students and learning coaches/parents in a timely manner • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Travel as required for professional development, student testing, and school functions

🎯 Requirements

• Must reside in Michigan • Michigan Teaching Certification required • Biology Science endorsement required • Bachelor's degree • Active state teaching license • Ability to clear required background check • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday • Ability to work the school-defined schedule, typically 9–5 or 8–4 • Ability to travel as required, on average once per month and/or approximately 20% of the time • Experience working with the proposed age group • Experience supporting adults and children in using technology • Experience teaching online/virtually and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment • Experience with online learning platforms • Ability to interpret and produce numeric, tabular, and graphic student-data representations • Ability to use student data to drive instructional decisions • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Ability to maintain teacher certification/professional development hours and fluency in K12 systems, programs, and curriculum
