📋 Description

• Deliver specific course content in an online environment • Provide instruction, support, and guidance focused on students’ individual needs as defined by each student’s IEP • Manage the learning process and work actively with students and parents • Ensure special education and related services are provided as determined by the IEP team • Communicate with parents and related service staff regarding appropriate therapies • Develop compliant IEPs, progress reports, and required special education documentation • Facilitate and lead collaborative special education meetings, including annual IEP meetings • Implement accommodations and modifications using assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible text • Modify Stride K12 lessons and assessments according to IEP requirements • Ensure student inclusion and success in the general education classroom • Collect data and work samples to monitor progress toward IEP goals and objectives • Document parent contacts and student interventions • Analyze student data to prescribe remediation and enrichment • Provide synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences • Maintain the grade book and student academic integrity • Make student placement and promotion decisions and alert administrators to performance concerns • Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests • Maintain positive rapport with families and communicate promptly with students and learning coaches/parents • Support learning coaches/parents with curricular, instructional, and basic virtual-classroom troubleshooting issues • Collaborate with teachers to interpret student data and use it to guide instructional decisions

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree • Active State Special Education teaching license • Six (6) months of student teaching experience • Ability to clear required background check(s) • Indiana residency required • If the current teaching certification is from another state, obtain Indiana reciprocity within 60 days of employment • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during the workday • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time for face-to-face professional development, student testing, and/or as required by the school • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • Experience working with the proposed age group • Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology • Experience teaching online and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment • Experience with an online learning platform
