📋 Description

• Assist teachers in delivering differentiated instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals • Use assistive technology and varied methods to support curriculum access • Co-teach and collaborate with special education and general education teachers and coaches • Coordinate special education requirements for students in inclusion programs • Assess students for mastery using state standards and testing requirements • Prepare students for standardized tests and assist with local and state assessments • Communicate with students, parents, teachers, coaches, staff, administrators, and other stakeholders about performance and progress • Establish and maintain positive relationships with families • Track student progress and motivate students using goal-based incentives • Enter documentation and maintain records in appropriate systems • Maintain compliance with company and district record-keeping requirements • Provide necessary reports and participate in special education meetings • Attend staff meetings and professional development • Solve day-to-day problems presented by staff and students • Collaborate with the Special Education team to develop an effective program • Participate in the Response to Intervention process when requested • Participate in school committee work, assemblies, school events, incentives, and community service opportunities • Assist with pre- and post-school duties, including club sponsorship and lunch, before-school, or after-school duties as required • Communicate special education student needs to school leadership • Promote a positive school environment and enforce school and classroom rules and policies

🎯 Requirements

• Must reside in Michigan • 60 credits or Associate’s Degree • One year of experience providing support to students • Ability to pass a required background search • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio • Web proficiency • Excellent communication and time management skills • Ability to travel 20% of the time for meetings, professional development, and state testing • Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional, distraction-free home office during the workday • Availability to work typically 9–5 or 8–4, or according to the school’s schedule
