📋 Description

• Provide services to eligible special education students with visual impairments according to their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) • Collaborate with teams supporting students in a virtual academic environment • Obtain licensure in multiple states as needed and serve students across multiple schools • Communicate with parents and teachers to develop schedules encouraging student attendance and participation • Develop progress reports and state-specific special education documentation • Ensure accommodations and modifications, including assistive technology, supplemental curriculum, and accessible text, are available • Maintain compliance with state, school, and company regulations • Instruct students, families, and teachers in appropriate communication strategies and technologies • Serve as Teacher of Record for assigned caseload • Maintain files and records, including progress reports, activity logs, treatment plans, and reports • Collect data and work samples to monitor progress toward IEP goals and objectives • Document parent contacts and student interventions • Provide engaging educational experiences and personalize learning • Establish positive rapport with families and communicate responsively with students and learning coaches/parents • Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, caregivers, and school staff • Be available to students, caregivers, and staff during designated work hours • Work from a professional home office environment conducive to video and audio needs • No formal supervisory responsibilities

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 2 years experience in public school environment as a Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) • State specific educator license in area of Visual Impairments or related field • Ability to work independently, with availability during typical school hours of at least 20 hours per week • Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9 - 5 as defined by the school and time zone • Experience teaching in an online/virtual environment • Strong familiarity with assistive technology for those with visual impairments • Strong content and subject-matter knowledge • Ability to support and guide adults as well as students • Receptive to receiving coaching on a regular basis with administrators • Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes • Ability to create and deliver staff development • Exceptionally strong verbal and written communication skills • Strong organizational and time management skills • Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms • MS365 Proficient • Ability to clear required background check • Must be available Monday through Friday between 8am and 5pm • Must be a resident of one of the 50 states or Washington, D.C.
