📋 Description

• Assist with litigation, pre-litigation disputes, and claims management • Draft demand letters, settlement agreements, releases, and related correspondence • Coordinate with and manage outside counsel • Investigate and help resolve disputes involving customers, contractors, property owners, vendors, and other third parties • Support regulatory, permitting, compliance, and government affairs matters • Provide practical legal guidance to business and operational teams • Conduct legal research and prepare concise guidance memoranda • Develop policies, forms, and internal procedures • Review routine commercial agreements and identify legal risks • Independently manage assigned matters, maintain organized files, track deadlines, and handle related administrative tasks without dedicated legal support staff • Report to the Vice President and Corporate Counsel • Support broadband expansion throughout the Midwest

🎯 Requirements

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school • Active Illinois law license in good standing • Eligible to practice law in Illinois without restriction • Approximately 3-5 years of legal experience preferred • Litigation, dispute resolution, or claims management experience strongly preferred • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills • Ability to provide practical, business-oriented legal advice • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently • Demonstrated ability to manage legal matters with minimal supervision and without reliance on a legal assistant • Experience with telecommunications, construction, real estate, regulatory, municipal, or utility matters is a plus • Business-minded and solutions-oriented • Strong writing and communication skills • Comfortable handling disputes and litigation-related matters • Self-motivated and able to work independently • Must submit a resume and brief summary of relevant experience
