📋 Description

• Responsible for medical billing and account follow-up • Transmit patient care information • Resolve discrepancies and adjust patient bills • Prepare reports • Resolve disputed claims by gathering, verifying, providing additional information, and following up • Resolve discrepancies by examining and evaluating data and selecting corrective steps • Maintain work operations by following policies and procedures and reporting compliance issues • Maintain quality results by following company standards • Update job knowledge through educational opportunities, professional publications, and current Medicaid/Medicare billing and reimbursement procedures • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma • Minimum of two years of experience with medical office billing procedures • Billing Certification preferred • Proficiency with UB04 and HCFA 1500 electronic and manual billing processes • Skills in gathering and reporting claim information • Skills in solving utilization problems • Written and verbal communication and customer relations skills • Experience or ability to work with Windows-based software systems • Ability to work effectively with medical staff and external agencies • Ability to identify, analyze, and solve claim issues • Ability to deal courteously and professionally with internal and external customers • Knowledge of clinic policies and procedures • Knowledge of third-party payers, Medicare, Medicaid billing/collections, HCPCS, CPT, and ICD coding • Knowledge of computer systems, programs, data entry, and spreadsheet applications • Knowledge of medical terminology and analyzing information • Knowledge of collection practices • Knowledge of governmental, legal, and regulatory provisions related to collection activity • Successful completion of pre-employment screening, including criminal background checks and drug testing
