📋 Description

• Conduct initial screening of psychiatric and medical needs for incoming psychiatric and chemical dependency admission referrals • Perform virtual assessments through phone triage and patient assessments • Triage patients in acute crisis and determine the correct level of care • Conduct mental status assessments when involuntary hold evaluation is required • Determine patient placement at the appropriate level of care • Provide illness advice and self-care interventions • Identify resources, consult, and refer patients • Use the nursing process, physician input, and approved telephone nursing guidelines and protocols • Maintain efficient operations and provide quality care to ensure positive patient outcomes • Work evening/night shifts with 12-hour shifts, variable days, and rotating weekends

🎯 Requirements

• Must be a resident of Utah, Idaho, Arizona, Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, Tennessee, or South Carolina • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing • California Registered Nurse license must be acquired prior to starting • Registered Nurse license in state of residence • 1 year of mental health experience • 2 years of practical nursing experience in a hospital, clinic, urgent care, or emergency room/department • Professional knowledge of clinical nursing protocols, regulations, institutional standards of care, risk management, disease processes, emergencies, health sciences, and pharmacology • Advanced clinical knowledge of medical diagnoses, procedures, protocols, treatments, terminology, and state and federal regulations and guidelines • Solid analytical and project management skills • Communication, interpersonal, and interviewing skills • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical/health records • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills • Ability to manage multiple priorities/projects simultaneously • Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to unsafe or emergency situations • Ability to ensure patient privacy and protect PHI • Ability to analyze problems and implement effective solutions • Ability to build collaborative relationships with peers, physicians, nurses, administrators, and the public
