• Aid patients in obtaining the correct level of care with the appropriate provider at the right time • Provide advanced clinical telephone support to Sutter Health patients and other callers • Provide in-basket and remote support for physicians, with limited in-clinic support • Use the nursing process, physician input, and approved telephone nursing guidelines and protocols to provide quality care and ensure positive patient outcomes • Assess patients’ needs and appropriately disposition cases • Collaborate with clinic and hospital-based providers to renew electronic prescriptions • Identify hospital and community resources, consultations, and referrals • Perform nursing follow-up activities • Assist physician partners with message management and communications within the electronic medical record system • Provide limited patient care in an outpatient setting • Recognize unsafe or emergency situations and respond appropriately • Protect patients’ protected health information
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing • California Registered Nurse license must be acquired before start date if selected • Registered Nurse license in state of residence • 2 years’ practical nursing experience in a hospital, clinic, urgent care, or emergency room/department • 2 years’ experience with several specialties and subspecialties • OB/GYN experience preferred • Minimum internet speeds of 15 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload • Professional knowledge of clinical nursing protocols, regulations, institutional standards of care, risk management, disease processes, emergencies, health sciences, and pharmacology • Advanced clinical knowledge of medical diagnoses, procedures, protocols, treatments, and terminology • Working knowledge of state and federal regulations and guidelines • Analytical and project management skills • Communication, interpersonal, and interviewing skills • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical/health records • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously • Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to unsafe or emergency situations • Ability to ensure patient privacy and protected health information
