📋 Description

• Elaborate, define, and plan technical work from well-defined objectives • Validate requirements with internal and external stakeholders • Lead execution of test strategies, execute test plans, generate test reports, and demonstrate compliance • Independently execute technical work and technically supervise other resources when needed • Lead improvement initiatives and review and approve technical solutions within existing architectures • Coach and develop less experienced employees • Gather information and validate requirements for root cause analysis and issue resolution • Provide new control system functionalities and modify existing PLC and HMI solutions • Document equipment configuration, system functionality, features, and team processes and procedures • Collaborate with Release Management and perform PLC and HMI updates for customers onsite or remotely • Support customers with unforeseen issues • Lead the design effort for a dedicated system • Contribute to and potentially lead process improvement initiatives • Support production sites • Report to the Senior Manager, Industrial Controls Engineering • Drive execution of PLC development and implementation as part of the Industrial Automation team

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline • Knowledge of Power Systems to design drive controls • Experience with AC/DC Drive Control Architecture • Minimum of 5 years in design and implementation of Industrial Control systems using PLCs, HMIs, and Drives • Minimum of 5 years of programming PLCs, HMIs, and related equipment for Industrial Control Systems; Rockwell products preferred • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with automated systems engineering • Advanced experience programming Rockwell PLCs, including ControlLogix and GuardLogix • Advanced knowledge of Industrial networks • Experience developing and programming HMIs, including Ignition 8 and FactoryTalk ME/SE • Ability to understand and read electrical and mechanical schematics • Strong background in troubleshooting complex automated systems • Experience with JIRA and agile methodology is a plus • Experience organizing a team and prioritizing tasks • Knowledge of Rockwell and Inductive Automation products is a plus • Approximately 40% travel to various customer locations in Canada and the United States • Up to 45% travel may be required • Valid driver’s license and ability to drive and/or fly to client and customer locations
