• Fulfill management responsibilities with respect to Good Laboratory Practices. • Ensure laboratory operations comply with appropriate regulatory requirements. • Represent the company with clients and prospective clients. • Work directly with business development directors to maintain existing relationships and develop new contacts. • Provide operational insight for efficiency improvement. • Draft, review, and/or approve Standard Operating Procedures and other documents related to laboratory projects. • Develop scientific, technical, and business strategies to promote growth and profitability of bioanalytical services. • Supervise, coach, and mentor scientific staff. • Oversee direct-report development through goal setting, performance reviews, training-needs evaluation, development plans, mentoring, and coaching. • Set priorities and schedule departmental resources, implement company objectives, and create alternative solutions for business and operational challenges.
• Preferred, advanced degree in chemistry, biochemistry, biology or related field or a bachelor’s degree in one of these fields. • Relative alternate certification may be considered acceptable. • Excellent communications, presentation, and interpersonal skills, both written and spoken. • Ability to inform, influence, convince, and persuade. • Demonstrated strong leadership, line management, tactical and strategic thinking skills. • Experience within a client-service environment, either in a contract laboratory or within a core group at a pharmaceutical company. • Demonstrates skills in scientific problem solving. • Extensive knowledge of GLP guidelines and other applicable regulatory requirements. • In-depth understanding and knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and contract research organizations, especially the bioanalysis community. • Ability to travel as necessary (approximately 25%). • English level: Required bilingualism includes communicating verbally and in writing on technical topics, and writing procedures or technical reports. • Candidates lacking the required training and/or experience may be considered under different criteria.
