📋 Description

• Build, maintain, evolve, and support Tailscale’s documentation platform and tools • Continuously improve the customer-facing documentation site for homelabbers, developers, enterprises, and their agents • Maintain and expand docs-as-code tooling and content publishing pipelines • Enable internal teams and external contributors to publish error-free content quickly • Integrate documentation with the Tailscale platform in collaboration with engineering and product teams • Partner with design, user research, and growth teams to move experiments and features into production • Shape and tune search and discovery infrastructure • Engage with open source contributors through GitHub discussions, issues, and pull requests • Monitor platform performance and maintain scalability for millions of monthly visitors • Research, experiment, and measure documentation trends and results

🎯 Requirements

• Proven track record building, extending, maintaining, and deploying documentation sites using Hugo, Docusaurus, NextJS, Astro, or similar tools • Familiarity with docs-as-code publication workflows • Fluency in TypeScript/JavaScript and React • Comfort with Python, command-line interfaces, shell scripting, and Git • Proficiency with modern HTML and CSS and ability to implement provided designs • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and automation for content or documentation workflows • Ability to explain the impact and implications of LLMs as application-development tools and documentation consumers • Open source experience and comfort engaging with GitHub contributors (nice to have) • Understanding how LLMs consume and interact with documentation (nice to have) • Understanding of multi-format content output including HTML, JSON, XML, raw Markdown, PDF, and ePub (nice to have)
