📋 Description

• Work as an embedded member of the product team by joining standups, design and product marketing discussions, and product reviews • Track and analyze competitors and adjacent products to identify feature gaps, emerging trends, and unmet needs • Maintain a weekly competitive tracker covering feature releases, notable launches, and competitor positioning • Recruit and interview users aged 16 to 25 to understand language, listening habits, and unmet needs around music discovery and sharing • Support usability and concept testing for features and prototypes • Capture qualitative and quantitative feedback and turn it into actionable recommendations • Investigate audience responses to curation and algorithmic recommendations • Study visual and interaction trends across music, social, and related apps • Monitor Reddit, Discord, TikTok comments, and app store reviews for relevant themes • Support user feedback programs by drafting survey questions, tracking feedback and bug reports, and logging recurring themes • Organize interview notes, clips, and findings in the research repository • Prepare regular internal research summaries and a final write-up and presentation • Own a self-directed product research project and present recommendations to the team

🎯 Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program or higher at an accredited institution • Must have completed Sophomore year or later • Must be taking at least one class in the semester/quarter before participation in the internship program • Must return to school for at least one semester after completing the internship • Minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA • Preferred degree program in business, marketing, design, human-computer interaction, communications, music business, or a related field • Genuine curiosity about consumer products and music discovery, sharing, and conversation • Strong written communication skills • Comfortable interviewing people and asking follow-up questions • Organized and self-directed, able to manage multiple research threads with light supervision in a remote environment • Comfortable with survey results and simple data sets • Hands-on familiarity with TikTok, Instagram, Discord, Reddit, and major streaming services • Discretion with confidential product, partner, and roadmap information • Successfully complete a post-offer background investigation and drug screen • Prior internship, coursework, or project experience in user research, product management, marketing, or design is a bonus • Practical exposure to interviews, surveys, or usability testing is a bonus • Working knowledge of Figma, Notion, and survey or analytics platforms is a bonus • Fluency with AI tools is a bonus
