📋 Description

• Identify, develop and maintain a quality network of community-based organizations, Realtors and local/state government agencies as mortgage referral sources • Take residential mortgage loan applications and communicate underwriting decisions, offers and counteroffers • Increase mortgage loan volume for CRA, low- and moderate-income, multicultural and first-time homebuyer segments • Research organizations and agencies serving low- and moderate-income persons and communities • Establish relationships with nonprofit organizations, realtors, housing offices and affordable housing organizations • Represent the bank at housing seminars, financial literacy programs, affordable housing conferences and community initiatives • Explain mortgage products and services, recommend solutions, communicate loan terms and finalize sales • Sell other Company products and services as appropriate • Guide customers through the mortgage application process and provide required disclosures and documentation • Manage customer expectations regarding processing times and closing dates • Communicate with customers, underwriters, processors, realtors and closing agents to keep applications on schedule • Coordinate additional information requests and problem-solving; attend closings as needed • Report progress toward goals to management and request assistance as needed • Originate residential mortgage loans according to policies, procedures and legal/regulatory guidelines • Communicate loan decisions and submit materials to processing and underwriting teams • Maintain current knowledge of local real estate market trends, mortgage policies, procedures, rules and regulations • Maintain and grow referral-source networks and provide current mortgage product information • Enter loan information into mortgage systems and create supporting files for underwriting, regulatory and other purposes • Send applications and required information to underwriting

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or progressive work experience in addition to the required experience • 3+ years related experience • Growing network of outside contacts to generate quality referral business • Self-directed, with ability to plan own activities to achieve sales goals • Excellent time management skills • PC skills, including knowledge of mortgage origination and automated underwriting systems • Must maintain an active registration status with NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry) • Established network of community-based organizations, municipalities and agencies focused on affordable housing and first-time homebuyer education • Demonstrated sales ability • In-depth knowledge of mortgage industry, products, lending practices and regulatory guidelines • Minimum target annual loan originations of 48 LMI/multicultural units • Must be eligible for employment with a covered financial institution under Regulation Z • Must be eligible for registration as a registered mortgage loan originator with NMLS under the SAFE Act • Satisfactory criminal background check and credit report check • Occasional domestic travel • Ability to perform sedentary work, multiple tasks, operate standard office equipment, concentrate for long periods, comprehend instructions, and perform basic arithmetic
