📋 Description

• Collect data and use data wrangling, profiling, visualization and statistical inference to uncover actionable insights and build analytics solutions • Own the end-to-end decisioning and pricing optimization engine • Use large-scale historical and market data to form hypotheses, conduct analyses, develop and evaluate machine learning models, and drive business decisions • Analyze large-scale data and apply statistical models to recommend insights and solve business objectives • Collaborate with business partners to identify and refine business strategies, analyze alternative deal structures and deliver business P&L expectations • Stay current on industry trends and optimization methodologies in auto finance markets • Lead complex, highly visible, high-risk data science and technology initiatives with enterprise impact • Deliver advanced analytical capabilities and create analytical presentations for executive audiences and stakeholders • Act as a key business partner and provide consultative and strategic guidance to business and executive leaders • Set direction and oversee the work of other data science professionals • Mentor, coach and provide thought leadership to peers and cross-functional teams • Collaborate with data and business analysts, software engineers, data engineers and application developers to develop scalable data science solutions • Lead strategic development efforts for new and emerging data science projects • Build cutting-edge analytic solutions with cross-functional teams • Identify analytical trends and data needs, generate hypotheses and create analytical models • Create and implement processes and systems to extract knowledge and insights from data • Identify and manage risks, implement remediation plans and support governance requirements • Maintain relationships across business lines, corporate functions and control functions • Participate in enterprise initiatives as a data science subject matter expert • Support team development through knowledge transfer, mentorship and best-practice sharing • Keep stakeholders informed about project status and relevant day-to-day information • Promote a positive, equitable and diverse work environment and act as a TD brand ambassador

🎯 Requirements

• Undergraduate degree or advanced technical degree preferred, e.g. math, physics, engineering, finance or computer science • Graduate degree preferred with either progressive project work experience, or 10+ years of relevant experience • Higher degree education and research tenure can be counted toward experience • Extensive understanding of the supported business and overall bank • Deep expertise and highly specialized knowledge of analytical concepts and techniques • Expertise in data science concepts, principles, practices and standards • Wide range of programming languages, such as Python • Experience extracting and preparing data, applying statistics and advanced analytics • Business acumen and ability to extract insights from big data • Ability to translate business problems into viable data science solutions • Ability to work with structured and unstructured data • Knowledge of data mining and data science applications • Knowledge of mathematics and statistics • Understanding of IT risk-based approaches to data science • Ability to identify and manage risks and escalate high-risk activities • Ability to assess regulatory requirements and potential impacts • Occasional domestic travel • Ability to perform sedentary work and operate standard office equipment continuously • Ability to sit and concentrate for long periods continuously
