• Validate complex mathematical and statistical models used in credit lending, business operations, and stress testing • Test model performance, assumptions, and conceptual soundness • Develop independent benchmark and quantitative models • Prepare detailed validation reports and maintain model documentation • Review model results and identify unexpected results or discrepancies • Develop and enhance quantitative pricing models • Write computer code to implement new pricing models and enhancements • Analyze financial markets, financial product pricing, and risk management with trading desks • Develop specialized analytical tools and conduct research using statistical analysis and modeling • Work with model risk management to obtain approval for new models and features • Assist with model performance analysis and regulatory inquiry responses • Build strong relationships with trading desks, internal model development groups, and external vendors • Lead cross-functional projects and workstreams with significant resource requirements, risk, or complexity • Conduct reporting, research, presentations, and analysis for management and broader audiences • Identify and manage risks, escalate high-risk activities, and support continuous process improvements • Provide guidance, training, coaching, and knowledge transfer to team members
• Undergraduate degree required • Advanced technical degree preferred, such as in math, physics, engineering, finance, or computer science • Graduate degree preferred with either progressive project work experience or 3+ years of relevant experience • In-depth knowledge of quantitative models and statistical analysis • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Strong interpersonal, consultative communication, and presentation skills • Practical knowledge of financial analysis techniques and methodologies • Ability to use complex analytical tools and statistics for analysis and forecasting • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools • Advanced skills in SAS and SQL • Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis and modeling tools • Ability to analyze complex information, solve problems, and develop and implement solutions • Ability to manage competing priorities and make decisions based on business priorities • Ability to collect, organize, and analyze complex or technical data • Ability to evaluate documents for accuracy and legal conformance • Ability to conduct short- and long-range business planning • Ability to contribute to strategic direction and advise senior leadership • Occasional domestic travel availability • Ability to perform sedentary work and operate standard office equipment
