📋 Description

• Serve as a trusted advisor to multiple retail business presidents, tailoring financial insights to operational needs • Use retail operations experience to guide cost control, product margin analysis, vendor management, and inventory forecasting • Translate financial data into actionable strategic recommendations • Lead full-cycle accounting operations, including A/P, A/R, GL, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and payroll • Manage month-end and year-end closes, reconciliations, accruals, fixed assets, and deferred revenue adjustments • Oversee inventory accounting, accurate valuation, and shrinkage reduction • Maintain a 13-week cash flow forecast and recommend working-capital solutions • Prepare trial balances, variance analyses, and financial reporting dashboards using OneStream or similar platforms • Collaborate on budgets, quarterly planning, and long-term strategic initiatives • Deliver KPIs reflecting operational performance and margin trends • Implement improvements across accounting systems, POS integrations, and reporting workflows • Assist with internal controls and document retail financial procedures • Streamline multi-location inventory management and seasonal adjustments

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field • 5+ years of experience in a Controller or Senior Accounting role • Proven experience in retail accounting, preferably with multi-location operations • Background in small to medium-sized businesses • Tech-savvy and resourceful; comfortable in remote, fast-moving environments • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, POS systems, and Excel • Working knowledge of US GAAP • CPA preferred • Fractional or outsourced accounting experience a plus
