📋 Description

• Develop statistical and machine learning models helping professional soccer clubs identify undervalued players and recruitment targets • Use player tracking data to build spatio-temporal models quantifying player impact and skill • Build metrics, analyses, and client-facing tools supporting soccer team decisions and model interpretation • Validate models and outputs with rigor • Write clear technical reports for clients • Partner with engineering to deploy models on cloud infrastructure and production systems • Review other data scientists' code and contribute ideas to advance the team's work • Own the model lifecycle from design and validation through deployment and improvement

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of professional or research experience writing code in R or Python for data science, statistics, or machine learning work • Comfort with SQL for building and querying structured data • Strong data science fundamentals • Experience working with sports tracking data • Strong communication skills • Direct soccer data or soccer analytics experience is a plus • Demonstrated track record through published research, blog posts, conference talks, or public projects is a plus • Experience using AWS or Google Cloud to train and deploy models is a plus • Comfort using AI coding tools is a plus • Must have legal right to work in the indicated location without employer sponsorship; role is not eligible for sponsorship
