📋 Description

• Advocate for users throughout the design and development process, ensuring solutions address real user needs. • Audit existing products and features to identify user pain points and align with product goals and technical constraints. • Conduct manual and automated accessibility testing, report findings, and recommend solutions. • Advise product, technology, business leadership, sourcing, and legal stakeholders on accessibility tradeoffs and impacts of decisions on users with disabilities. • Assist in prioritizing accessibility defects and enhancements. • Guide developers on accessible development practices using HTML, CSS, and ARIA. • Embed accessibility into product team processes and protocols to improve accessibility maturity. • Create accessibility annotations for development, including keyboard interactions, screen reader announcements, and ARIA guidance. • Create and lead digital accessibility training. • Improve cross-accessibility-team alignment by facilitating updates to documentation on patterns and components. • Propose and lead accessibility program initiatives that improve quality, consistency, and efficiency.

🎯 Requirements

• 7–9 years of professional digital accessibility experience. • Knowledge of disability and assistive technology. • Knowledge of internationally recognized accessibility standards, including WCAG. • Knowledge of industry accessibility best practices. • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and ARIA. • Ability to perform manual and automated accessibility testing. • Ability to audit digital products and features, identify user pain points, and recommend solutions. • Ability to advise stakeholders on accessibility and business tradeoffs. • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Human Computer Interaction, Psychology, Instructional Design, or Computer Science. • Preferred: Accessibility certifications such as CPACC or WAS.
