📋 Description

• Provide leadership to the Natrium advanced reactor project • Oversee development, review, and maintenance of licensing documents • Manage regulatory engagements with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, including pre-application meetings, audits, inspections, application revisions, topical reports, and future licensing applications • Lead a distributed group of licensing engineers focused on a 10 CFR 50 licensing approach for an advanced sodium-cooled fast reactor • Plan, coordinate, and execute ongoing licensing activities • Ensure timely, high-quality Construction Permit or Operating License Application documents, including Safety Analysis Reports and Environmental Reports • Coordinate preparation and review of responses to NRC audit questions and requests for additional information • Ensure designs and design changes meet regulatory requirements • Interface with technical discipline teams within TerraPower and external partners • Review correspondence to and from regulatory agencies • Develop licensing strategies supporting project goals • Report to the Director of Licensing

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited, four-year university or equivalent experience • 8+ years of experience in the nuclear industry is required • 2+ years of new or advanced reactor licensing or oversight is required • 2+ years of previous supervisory or mentoring experience, or equivalent people leadership experience is required • Capability and willingness to adhere to strict quality assurance standards • Familiarity with 10 CFR regulations and guidance, content of 10 CFR 50 applications, and risk-informed, performance-based regulatory guidance • Excellent communicator, team oriented, willing to operate within a matrix organization, and able to direct remote team members • Possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly, and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork • Ability to safely lift up to 25 pounds • Ability to perform prolonged repetitive work and visual/audio-focused work • Ability to work in an environment involving stairs, typing/keyboard, and more than 8 hours per day of standard and/or seated work • Travel required 0-10% • Must satisfy applicable U.S. Government export control requirements; applicants may need to identify U.S. citizenship/nationality, asylee, refugee, or lawful permanent resident status
