📋 Description

• Independently lead work streams building next-generation data foundations for core enterprise reporting datasets • Serve as subject matter expert on subscription data • Translate subscription data needs into technical implementations • Mentor teammates on the subscription data domain • Design reusable business logic and data pipelines • Develop data models, data contracts, alerting, context, and metrics/semantic layers • Support traditional and AI-assisted analytical use cases • Partner with Product, Engineering, and Design teams across the business • Support and understand journalistic independence and The New York Times’ mission

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, product analytics or similar data-intensive roles • Proficiency in SQL, DBT, and data transformation workflows • Proficiency in Python for ETL and analytics use cases • Experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners • Ability to work with business-focused partners and platform-focused engineers • Hands-on familiarity with GCP/BigQuery, Databricks/Spark, AWS, Snowflake, or other cloud data environments
