📋 Description

• Conduct quantitative analyses of The Trevor Project’s national cross-sectional and longitudinal surveys on the mental health of LGBTQ+ youth people to increase our scientific understanding of the mental health of LGBTQ+ young people including key risk and protective factors for suicide. • Co-author manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals as well as mass consumption briefs and reports that will be published on our website and disseminated to the press and partners. • Present to a wide range of stakeholders, including internal groups, external partners, conferences, and the media, about The Trevor Project’s research as well as overall research on LGBTQ+ youth mental health and suicide prevention • Provide input to ensure that our future national surveys, both cross-sectional and longitudinal, tap into key research areas that inform our knowledge of and ability to advocate for LGBTQ+ youth. • Participate in the ongoing internal initiatives of The Trevor Project’s programs by collaborating with other departments. • Identify and internally disseminate relevant new research being conducted and published on crisis services, suicide prevention, mental health, and LGBTQ+ youth. • Demonstrate fair, ethical, and equitable business practices • Learn eagerly, share knowledge appropriately, and improve continuously • Demonstrate successful planning and problem-solving skills, including multitasking and working well within tight timelines • Work, communicate, and collaborate effectively with others • Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy in all work • Demonstrate a commitment to fostering and maintaining an environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging • Other relevant duties and responsibilities as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Demonstrated Track record of publishing peer-reviewed research on LGBTQ+ young people, with expertise in LGBTQ+ youth mental health and suicidology, and a PhD or equivalent. • Proficiency in: • Quantitative analyses of survey data • Collaborating and approaching all work and interactions with empathy and inclusion. You are successful in creating relationships with cross-functional teams from varying levels, working closely with colleagues to brainstorm ideas, discuss pros/cons, and develop ways forward. You have the proven ability to listen and respond to develop mutual understanding and trust. You are experienced in fostering an environment where different opinions and approaches can be entertained, considered, and appreciated while working as a team to find a resolution. • Articulating thoughts and ideas clearly and effectively in written and oral forms to audiences inside and outside of the organization. You have the proven skill in distilling complex information into compelling, easily digestible narratives; presenting information in an inspiring and persuasive way. You are skilled at conveying technical information to a non-technical audience. • Commitment to outstanding internal and external service to our colleagues, the individuals we serve, our donors, and those with whom we collaborate and communicate. You have proven focus on proactive and inclusive issue resolution and continuous improvement for all systems and processes. You have demonstrated flexibility in the midst of change, being able to successfully juggle multiple deliverables, and adapt to new situations with fresh ideas or innovative approaches. • Demonstrating awareness and support for The Trevor Project’s mission and vision: to end suicide and address mental health crises in the LGBTQ+ youth community, and create a world where all LGBTQ+ young people see a bright future for themselves. • Setting clear timelines and driving projects to completion. You know that completing shareable outputs is the key to having a significant impact. You can conceptualize, conduct, and interpret complex quantitative analyses and have experience mentoring others in quantitative methods. • Proficiency in spoken and written English
